Walk Your Feet & Rest Your Heart… (a traditional Bedouin saying)
Since biblical days, the trails crossing the deserts of the Middle East are part of the history of all major religions; it was on these trails were Moses led the people of Israel during the Exodus, Jesus used on his way to Jerusalem, and Mohamed the Prophet took in his journeys. During time, unique and specialized cultures evolved in the arid lands of the Middle East and its frontier – the Negev desert. They all walked the same desert nomad trails we still walk on today. For centuries, the Negev desert traditional inhabitants are the Bedouin, a predominantly desert-dwelling Arabian ethnic group, mostly engaging in nomadic herding.
The Desert Shade group invites you to become a modern nomad, explore the trails of our ancestors and meet the Bedouin community. We invite you to explore the land of the desert and its people, by foot, camel, bike or 4X4 Jeep safari. We offer a wide range of outdoor activities including hiking trails in the wilderness, bike rental and tours, camel rides, horseback riding, 4X4 trips, Bedouin village trip including traditional meal and moonlight fire.
